Imaging of various organs using radioisotopes is an important and essential aspect of cancer diagnostic and management. SSGCH provides this facilities to cancer patients, which is probably the only center in southern Maharashtra. The gamma camera used for this imaging modality detects the size and site of distance metastasis, anatomical abnormalities and functional defects. For example, bone scan is useful for identifying bony secondary’s, MUGA Scan for establishing the cardiac function and perfusion scan of lungs helps in the diagnosis of pulmonary embolism.
