Breast Cancer

Breast Cancer

While there is no guaranteed way to prevent breast cancer, early detection can improve treatment outcomes. Regular screening through mammograms, breast self-exams, and awareness of personal risk factors can help with early diagnosis.

Types Of Breast Cancer

Breast cancer can be classified into several types, mainly based on the location of the cancer and the specific cells affected:

Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS) : A non-invasive cancer that is confined to the ducts in the breast.
Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) : The most common form, IDC starts in the milk ducts and spreads to other parts of the breast tissue.
Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (ILC ) : Begins in the milk-producing lobules and can spread to other parts of the breast and body.
Inflammatory Breast Cancer : A rare and aggressive form of breast cancer that causes the skin of the breast to become red, swollen, and inflamed.
Triple-negative Breast Cancer : A type of cancer that does not have receptors for estrogen, progesterone, or HER2, making it more difficult to treat.
